“A spilt bottle of Rage turned an innocent tree trunk into "The Log". Now, it seeks revenge by crushing anything in its path! Reduced damage to Crown Towers.”

The “The Log” is a Legendary card that is unlocked from the Electro Valley (Arena 11). It is an area-damage, ground-targeting spell with a very long rectangular area and moderate damage that also inflicts knockback to any troop it hits. It can only be deployed on the player's own side. It appears as a long, spiked piece of wood. A "The Log" card costs 2 Elixir to deploy.

  • As a cheap spell, The Log can be used to damage, push back or even kill multiple ground troops that are approaching your side, such as Barbarians or Goblins.
  • Unlike most other cards with a pushback effect (with the exception of the Monk), The Log can affect all ground troops. If a troop is locked into a target, the pushback caused by The Log will reset their attack animation. This is in contrast with the Zap or Lightning, as it will only pause the attack instead of fully resetting it, with the exception of Sparky. There are many implications where the knockback can be useful.
    • The Log's pushback can be used to force enemy troops directly in the center of the Arena to switch lanes by deploying The Log on the side of the troop opposite to where the player would like to redirect it. This can be useful to weaken the current defense or to weaken a counterattack. A scenario where this would be useful is if the opponent places down a Golem against your X-Bow. The Log's knockback will send the Golem out of range, letting your X-Bow connect to the Crown Tower.
    • If a unit is walking right on the edge of the river on a player's side, the player can use The Log to push the unit over the river back to the opponent's side. This is a good way to delay slow-moving units like Giant and P.E.K.K.A.
    • If the opponent places a Royal Giant in the extra space of the player's territory once a Tower has been destroyed, they may be able to use The Log to push him to the King's Tower lane, protecting their frailer Tower. It could also be used to cause him to retarget to another building if the player places their building late.
    • If a Miner is placed on the corner of the Crown Tower closest to the King's Tower, The Log can push the Miner towards the King's Tower, activating it.
    • The Log's pushback can push the Hunter further away from his target, reducing his damage significantly.
    • While a Mega Knight is charging his jump attack, pushing back the Mega Knight while he is charging does not prevent him from jumping on his target. The same holds true for the Bandit and her dash attack.
  • It can be a cheaper alternative to Arrows, due to the very similar damage and area of effect.
    • The main differences are that The Log costs 1 less Elixir while being unable to affect air troops. As such, it might be advisable to bring other splash damage cards to deal with the likes of Minions and the Minion Horde.
    • It can also be an alternative to Zap, as both of them have the same Elixir cost. They can both disarm the charge attacks of Prince and Dark Prince if you have low Elixir or if your small units are out of rotation. However, they have slightly different effects when used. The Log will not reset a Sparky, but a Zap will.
    • Barring air troops, there are only 6 units that it cannot one-shot compared to Arrows, those being Wall Breakers, Bomber, Archers, Guards, Firecracker, and Elixir Blobs. They will still be countered with the help of the Crown Tower. However, The Log can kill Firecracker and Archers if it is 1 Level above them, and Wall Breakers and Bomber if it is 2 Levels above them.
  • The Log is effective on offense when combined with grounded units. Any swarms placed on top of The Log will be immediately hit, and in most cases, completely eliminated. However, the player should be aware of the slightly staggered deploy time on all cards comprised of more than one unit besides Skeletons and Skeleton Army, and deploy their The Log so that it will roll over the units once their hitbox spawns.
  • Remember that, despite it being a spell, it can only be placed on the player's side, which reduces its effectiveness in certain situations.
  • The Log can be an effective counter to Tombstones or Goblin Drills. If the building is at around half health, The Log can be used to destroy the building and the troops spawned afterward. Similarly, it can also be used on a Battle Ram to deal additional damage to the spawned Barbarians. However, this will not work against a Goblin Giant.
  • The Log is a great counter to a Goblin Barrel. Although it is slightly harder to defend a Goblin Barrel with it compared to Arrows, it costs 1 less Elixir. The Log's radius is wider than it appears, meaning it will still fully counter a Goblin Barrel placed in the center of the player's Crown Tower if the horizontal placement is 1 tile off. It is also more effective in scenarios where the Goblin Barrel is accompanied with a tank, as The Log will also deal damage to the tank, and in cases where the tank is a swarm like a Skeleton Army, The Log will be able to defeat them both at once.
  • The Log pairs very well with other spells, like Fireball and Poison. The extra damage that The Log does is enough to finish off units that would survive those two spells like Night Witch and Witch. However, this is mostly a negative Elixir trade, so try to get additional value by hitting other units as well.
    • If the player uses a Fireball next to the Crown Tower and manages to hit a troop that survives it, it is better to wait until the enemy troop reaches the bridge and use The Log there, in hopes of hitting other troops that are used as a meatshield for the injured troop. This should not be done however if the troop has already crossed the bridge, as it would be more Elixir-efficient to let the Tower finish it off.
  • The Log can be combined with Spirit cards similarly to the Spirit + Zap combination. Compared to Zap, The Log does more damage, which allows it to defeat up to Elixir Blobs with any Spirit, as opposed to Zap which requires a Fire Spirit to reach the same threshold. In addition, the combination of The Log + a Spirit card is enough to defeat Guards, however, unlike the other troops, this requires The Log to hit first before the Spirit.
  • The Hog Rider, Mega Knight, Ram Rider, Royal Hogs and the Cursed Hogs can unintentionally jump over The Log as they cannot be struck by it while they use their jump abilities. However, this is rare and should not be relied on.
  • When timed right, the Magic Archer paired with The Log can stop 2 of the Three Musketeers when split, while also getting chip damage towards the Crown Tower. This will leave the player with 3 spare Elixir to use on the third Musketeer in the other lane.
  • A Level 14 The Log is enough to OHKO Level 15 Princess, Dart Goblin, and Rascal Girls. Therefore, it is not a bad idea for the player to invest their Legendary resources (i.e. Wild Cards or Trade Tokens) into other Legendary cards first. However, a Level 14 The Log cannot OHKO Mirrored Level 16 Princess, Dart Goblin, and Rascal Girls, so the player should consider leveling it to 15.

  • The Log can be seen in the menu picture for Builder's Workshop in the bottom left corner. Before The Log was introduced into the game, it had no spikes on it.
  • When deployed, you can hear a voice chanting “LOG”.
  • The Log is featured as a character skin for Spike in Brawl Stars.
  • The Lumberjack is responsible for creating The Log, which is hinted at on several different occasions:
    • The Lumberjack's description states "and hunts The Log by night".
    • In The Log's card description, it states the cause of its creation was "a spilt bottle of Rage", which is a property exclusive to the Lumberjack.

  • The Log is the subject of certain cosmetics in the game. More specifically:
    • The Log is the subject of a few Emotes.
    • The Log is the subject of a few Tower Skins.
  • The Log was featured in the winning decks of multiple Clash Royale Tournaments. More specifically:
  • There used to be a glitch where if a Bomb Tower was directly in front of the King's Tower and was hit by The Log, the Bomb Tower would extend The Log's effective range, causing it to activate the King's Tower.
  • If a Monk activates Pensive Protection in the corner of the Arena, then an opposing The Log will be deflected out of the Arena's bounds.
  • The initial balance change for The Log on the 7/6/2022 balance changes was a pushback range decrease to 0.5 tiles (from 1 tile), but it was changed to a Crown Tower Damage decrease to 20% (from 30%) last minute.
